We are currently looking for Full-time Kitchen Assistance. We are an innovative farm to table restaurant with two beautiful locations on the Big Island. Daylight Mind has recently expanded to the Queens Marketplace and are seeking a full time experienced Line Cooks and/or Sous Chefs for our Waikoloa location.
PM Line Cook:
5 nights a week you will be responsible: for line prep; maintaining a clean working environment; and most importantly cooking, plating and presentation of locally sourced meats, fish, and produce. We run a very friendly kitchen, and believe in strong communication between front and back of house. A “Can do” Attitude is a must.
Strong work ethic; team minded communication; firm understanding of safe food handling practices (such as F.I.F.O., food cooling, thawing and cooking temperatures, etc.), a sense of urgency and pride in ones work, understanding the chain of command, creativity and passion for food, and a desire to learn and grow with us.
Basic food cost knowledge.
Previous line and saute cook experience.
ServSafe Certified (preferably)
Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
