Ekolu Mea Nui Ekolu Mea Nui with Kevin Kealoha, Kunia Galdeira, and Sonny Lim.

Phillip Kunia Galdeira, known as “Kunia” Born and raised in Waianae, started playing ukulele when was a young boy, but not until he moved in with his grandfather, the late Gabby “pops” Pahinui in 1979 did he fine the passion to play the ukulele. He could remember getting up every morning to medley’s of song’s his grandfather would play on his guitar. He graduated in 1981 from Kailua High School. After high school he move to California for about three years, working during the day and music at night. Moving back to Hawaii in1988, finally moving to the Big Island in 1989. Also came out with his first Album in 1996 called Kunia “The Bay”.

Since 1989 he has played with all sorts of great musicians, currently playing with a group called Ekolu Mea Nui with the likes of Sonny Lim and Kevin Kealoha. (information from http://www.hiki4u.com/index.php/details/kunia_galdeira/)
