The Honoka’a High School Jazz Band is a group of advanced music students who uphold a long tradition of excellence at Honoka’a High and Intermediate School. Under the direction of Gary Washburn, a dedicated teacher and accomplished jazz artist, the band is considered one of the state’s top high school bands.

The festival starts with a very educational and fun workshop put on by world-renowned Roy Sakuma and friends at the Queens’ MarketPlace pavilion. Beginners and long time players of this instrument can learn Roy’s style of ukulele playing. Plus, Hawai`i’s top `ukulele entertainers headline this annual musical extravaganza at Queens’ MarketPlace. Whether you are a resident or a visitor, the rhythmic sound of the `ukulele will bring you back to a time of the beauty and magic of Old Hawai`i. The music will make you dance and be part of this once a year event that showcases the sound that is known worldwide.
