We start off this festival with a very educational and fun workshop put on by world-renowned Roy Sakuma and friends at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Beginners and long time players of this instrument can learn Roy’s style of ukulele playing. Many that have come in the past learned a song or two to which is typically performed at either of the Waikoloa Beach Resort Shopping centers.
Hawai`i’s top `ukulele entertainers headline this annual musical extravaganza at Queens’ MarketPlace and Kings’ Shops. Whether you are a resident or a visitor, the rhythmic sound of the `ukulele will bring you back to a time of the beauty and magic of Old Hawai`i. The music will make you dance and be part of this once a year event that showcases the sound that is known worldwide.

Keoki Apokolani Carter is an musician, composer, and honored as a Hoku Awards finalist. He’s talented with guitar, baritone ukulele, and vocals. His original music ranges from Hawaiian kiho‘alu slack key & baritone ukulele, to island contemporary and jazz. He is accompied by jazz musician Paul Lindbergh on the saxophone and flute, and Yvonne Yarber Carter with vocals.

Once a month, you’re invited to bring a beach chair or blanket for a free outdoor movie at dusk (6:30pm) at the Coronation Pavilion.
March: Finding Nemo
Nemo, an adventurous young clownfish, is unexpectedly taken from his Great Barrier Reef home to a dentist’s office aquarium. It’s up to his worrisome father Marlin and his friendly but forgetful regal blue tang fish Dory to bring Nemo home—meeting vegetarian sharks, surfer dude turtles, hypnotic jellyfish, hungry seagulls, and more along the way.
